"I purchased this as a gift for my SO and am glad i did. It is super-duper light compared to the PC monstrosity he was lugging around, the backlighted keyboard are great when viewing a movie and you want to turn the lights off, and we listen to internet radio on iTunes."

"I purchased this laptop after I sold my Macbook Pro 17inch which was getting old and too heavy to lug around conveniently. I have an iMac for video and Photoshop heavy lifting and wanted something light and easy to carry around.I can't get over how quick it is. Windows seven running under boot camp is faster than any of my late model Windows machines at work and it was easy to install. This machine is perfect, fast SSD and it runs cool even after hours of use on my lap. My macbook pro needed something under it to keep my legs from burning after a few minutes.
I have been a Mac user for about 6 years now and this machine is the best one yet. The price is very reasonable considering the performance compared to other laptops in this price range. Battery life is also better than any laptop I have ever owned. Its also darn good looking and light, less than 2 lbs. Buy one, you will not be disappointed !!!"

Key Features

Flash Memory Storage

By replacing the standard spinning hard disk drive typically present in laptops (as well as desktop PCs) with flash memory, the MacBook Air delivers an almost instantaneous boot-up whenever you open the display, as well as faster application launches and snappier overall performance. Additionally, Apple has shed the enclosure that typically surrounds flash memory (usually about exactly the same size as being a standard hard drive), thus giving it an inferior footprint and helping to decrease the scale in the MacBook Air.
The ultimate do-everything, take-everywhere notebook

Revolutionary Thunderbolt Technology

Developed by Intel with collaboration from Apple, high-speed Thunderbolt I/O (input/output) technology delivers an amazing 10 gigabits per second of transfer speeds in the directions. Built in the MacBook Air, the Thunderbolt port allows you to connect to new Thunderbolt-compatible peripherals at the same time as existing USB and FireWire peripherals using simple adapters. You'll be in a posture to move data as much as 20 times faster compared to USB 2.0 and greater than 12 times faster as compared to FireWire 800, and also you can daisy-chain as much as six high-speed devices without employing a hub. Thunderbolt also supports DisplayPort for top resolution displays and works together existing adapters for HDMI, DVI, and VGA displays.

Glass Multi-Touch Trackpad and Backlit Keyboard

With the smooth, glass Multi-Touch trackpad, the MacBook Air causes it to be easy to navigate OS X Lion along with your software applications. It is possible to pinch, swipe or rotate images for the display screen while using brush of two fingers, or add more digits for a four-fingered vertical swipe to spread out Expose and quickly glance whatsoever of one's open windows.
Spacious, full-sized keyboard with backlighting (view larger).
In spite of its compact size, the MacBook Air features a full-size keyboard for comfortable, natural typing, and backlit so you are able to keep typing in perhaps the dimmest light.

Integrated FaceTime Webcam

You'll be able to easily connect to friends, family, and business colleagues with all the MacBook Air's FaceTime camera, which is integrated in to the thin bezel across the display. And with Apple's FaceTime application, you're not limited to video chats along with other Macs--you can now make video calls to iPhone and iPod touch users (Wi-Fi connection required for mobile users).
